About Education Recruitment UK

A school is only as strong as the people in it. We exist to make the search for them clearer.

Education Recruitment UK helps schools, academies and colleges across the United Kingdom find teaching, support and leadership staff, including specialist and hard-to-fill roles.

The moment a vacancy opens

Picture a school where a post has just come open: a subject teacher, a SENCO, a middle leader or a member of the support team. The class still has to be taught, the timetable still has to work, and the person who should be running the search is already running the school.

Every unfilled post is felt by the staff who cover it and by the pupils in front of them. That is often the moment a school starts looking for help.

“A good appointment starts with a clear picture of the role and of the school around it.”
The idea Education Recruitment UK is built on

How we work

We recruit for schools and colleges in the way the post requires. A classroom teacher, a specialist therapeutic role in a SEN setting and a senior leadership appointment ask for different searches, so we agree the approach with you before we start.

  1. First, we talk it throughA conversation about your school, your ethos and the post you need to fill.
  2. Then, we shape the searchA person specification built around your priorities, aimed at the candidates who fit the role.
  3. Next, we screen and shortlistInterviews and checks on our side before you meet anyone, so your time goes to the people who fit.
  4. Then, we stay alongsideFeedback and communication until the new starter begins. You pay our fee only when they do.
Our vision

Education hiring that is clear, careful and fair, for the school and for the professional.

We picture a hiring process where a school can fill a post without guessing, and where a teacher or support professional is matched with a school that suits how they work.

Our mission is to make that practical: a clear brief for every post, honest evaluation of every candidate, and support for the school from the first conversation to the first day.

What we believe

Start with the post

What the person will actually do for the pupils in their first term matters more than the title on the advert.

Skill and fit together

We look at experience and fit with your school side by side, because a staff room works best when both are right.

Say it plainly

You get a written quote with the scope and the fee before any work starts, so you know what the search involves.

Fair to everyone

Candidates never pay us a fee, and schools pay only when a new starter begins.

Sound familiar?

Schools that look for a recruiter often face one of these moments. Here is how we help with each.

Schools and colleges · Urgent cover

“A post has come open and we cannot wait for the usual process.”

What is usually going on. Someone has left at short notice, and the people who would normally run the search are already stretched.

What we do. We agree what the post needs with you, then run the search and the screening so you meet only candidates who fit.

What changes. The search stops competing with the school day, and the post has a clear brief behind it.

Specialist roles · Hard-to-fill posts

“We need a very particular specialism, and the applications we receive do not match.”

What is usually going on. A job title can cover many specialisms, so an advert draws applicants who are not the person you need.

What we do. We agree the requirements with your leaders, then tailor the search and the screening to the post.

What changes. You meet candidates chosen for the role, not only for the title.

Established teams · Replacement

“The appointment looked right on paper, and it did not work out.”

What is usually going on. The application fitted, but the post, the team or the expectations were not what the candidate had understood.

What we do. We go back to the brief to see what was missed. If a new hire we placed does not work out within 60 days of their start date, we find a replacement at no extra fee.

What changes. The second search starts from what you learned, and you do not pay twice for the same post.
